e-voluzione srl, based in Naples, Italy, is an SME, specializing in services based on LabVIEW, for which they are official certified architects. James R Kass Space Consulting is an agent for e-voluzione, and in fact, is also exclusive agent vis-à-vis the European Space Agency.
LabVIEW (short for Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench) is a system-design platform and development environment for a visual programming language from National Instruments. Among the many users of LabVIEW at ESTEC, the Engineering Laboratories, such as theElectrical Laboratories and Mechanical Laboratories, make frequent use of this platform to drive the instruments and display the test results.
Dr Francesco Sacerdoti, CEO of e-voluzione srl, has previously carried out work for ESA, working on four Space Shuttle missions, one of which, the STS-107, Dr Kass managed the payload, Biopack, for which Sacerdoti designed the user interface.
